Mi Smart Band 4 is a value for money and one of the most affordable fitness bands from Xiaomi. With this fourth line extension of the Mi Band category, Xiaomi this time has introduced a Fitness tracker that has a color display and swim tracker, and still, they claim to offer 20-day battery life.
The first Mi Band lineup product didn't even have a display and now we have got a device with an AMOLED color display with lots of watch faces, which are really nice to have.
If you talk about the price, the MI Band 4 costs a little higher than Mi Band 3. But the new features provided in this Fitness Tracker do justify the cost of this tracker.
To review this fitness tracker, we used it for a week to find out the best and worst associated with this fitness tracker and now we present you the same.
Price :
- Between 25$ to 30$
- Battery Capacity: Mi Band 4 comes with a strong battery at the given price range. The company claims the battery life of 20 days. However, with all features on, the batter is expected to drain faster. But, in that case also, even if the battery gives performance for 10 days plus, it's going to be one of the best in the industry.
- Swimproof: The Mi Band 4 has 5ATM water resistance ratings which means it is water-resistant up to 50 meters and hence, you can use it during swimming and during shower as well.
- Sleep Quality Tracking: Mi Band 4 uses software to track your sleep quality on the basis of your physical body movements. It does not track or read your brain activity and hence, its unable to track REM (Rapid Eye Movement) or NERM (Non-Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. However, with the software's support, the band tracks the quality of your sleep on the basis of physical movement and differentiates the sleep pattern into a deep sleep and light sleep. Trust me this is not bad considering its price point.
- Heart rate monitor: Mi Band 4 also has an HR monitoring feature that tracks your heart rate or pulse. However, it throws the data in the form of a high, low, or average level. The Mi Band 4 is a well-known device to track your heart rate accurately and hence, you can surely trust it.
- Activity Tracker & GPS: It doesn't have a built-in GPS, though it does have a connected GPS feature (through your smartphone) for tracking your distance and pace using your phone's GPS. The Mi Band 4 has an inbuilt activity tracker and will track all the basic things like distance traveled, steps taken, calories burnt, resting and active heart rates, and sleep.
- Compatibility with Android and iOS: Mi Band 4 is compatible with your IOs and android smartphones and displays incoming calls and app notifications. It has the facility to reject calls as well. Mi Band 4 does allow you to control the music of your cellphone through the band. This means the tracker lets you play, pause, control volume, or skip songs being played on your cellphone.
- Six Workout modes: Mi 4 Band is enabled with 6 workouts modes including swimming.
- Data storage capacity in days: Mi 4 Band can store activity and health data for up to 10 days. This means that you don't have to sync it every day to store your records and that you can sync it as per your convenience once in 10 days.
Demerits :
- No guided breathing sessions: This means the band does not remind you to carry out the physical activity when you were idle for a longer span.
- Doesn't have the ability for women to track menstrual cycles.
- MI Band 4 doesn't have a built-in GPS, which means your data on distance traveled won't be very accurate all time if you're going out for a run with only your MI band 4.
- No Inbuilt Music Option: MI Band 4 does not contain an inbuilt music option, but it does allow you to control the Music of your cellphone through the band. This means the tracker lets you play, pause, control volume, or skip songs being played on your cellphone.
- The real concern or problem in Xiaomi Band 4 is the inferior proprietary charger this time around.
Unique Selling Point :
- Value for a money activity tracker that does the basics right and offers minor smartwatch features as well.
- Mi Band 4 provides the best balance between features of the tracker and its battery life. In fact, MI Band 4 has one of the best in class battery life performance.
- Extremely good tracker for beginners.
Final Word:
- Xiaomi Band 4 is the best entry-level fitness tracker available at the price point between 25$ to 30$ that provides a colorful AMOLED display with a multiactivity tracker including swimming, sleep tracking, and continuous heart rate monitoring.
- Very few fitness trackers have the capacity to provide these features at a price point below $30. Hence, we recommend a strong YES for the beginners as there is no branded Fitness Tracker at this price point that offers so many must-have and essential features in a single piece at the given price point. Surely a must-buy for the beginners.
